Appendix A: Record Duration
The record duration varies based on the HDD capacity and the settings of resolution,
recording quality and events. The following tables give a sample calculation of record
duration according to different HDD capacities with different settings of resolution and
recording quality, excluding consideration of events. The recording quality refers to the
quality setting of <Recording Profile Setup> under <Advance Schedule Setup> from the
Record menu.
NOTE: Record duration times are based on actual tests and represent average file
sizes. Performance may vary from specific installations and usages. In addition, for
each channel, audio recording requires 8 KB per second (or 0.7 GB per day) for data
storage.
The following three tables are categorized by record resolution. Each table lists how many
days the DVR can record (audio included).
